Removing old Solaris VMs Tuesday, July 30.

by Charles Schmiesing 4 months ago

You will recall that we moved from the Solaris/ISAM environment to the RHEL/PostgreSQL environment in the second half of calendar year 2023. Since then the Solaris servers have been powered off and we have not had a need to power on any of the ITC Solaris VMs.

INFOhio will complete a review of the contents of the Solaris servers, with the intent of permanantly removing them thereafter.

Please let us know promptly through https://support.infohio.org if you have any concerns before we permanently remove the old Solaris VMs, which we plan to pursue next Tuesday, July 30.

Thanks,

Charles

We have reviewed all of the old Solaris servers. When we located files to retain, such as  data from districts no longer using INFOhio Library Services, we have transferred those files to the /extra/Backup/OldFiles directory on the associated server of the ITC.

Again, please let us know promptly through https://support.infohio.org if you have any concerns before we permanently remove the old Solaris VMs, which we plan to pursue next Tuesday, July 30.

Thanks,

Charles
