New OHvendorload.new script and samples for Aug 1

I have uploaded an updated version of the OHvendorload.new script used in MarcEdit. I will be demonatrating this on Thursday August 1st at our meeting.

The download file is located in the "Providers Roundtable Resources" section of Confluence. The .zip file contains the updated script and sample MARC records in case you would like to follow along with me on Thursday.

Back in June I had turned off barcode validation to your TEST instance with the plan of sharing this at our June 11 meeting. As you recall we ran short on time, but barcode validation has not been re-enabled. 

Since I turned it off I am happy to re-enable barcode validation on your TEST instance for you. After Thursday's meeting if you would like barcode validation re-enabled for your TEST instance please send me a request and I will re-enable it.
Or, you can do it yourself by:

  • Logging onto the symphony server
  • Type the script OHbarcodevalidation.sh
  • When prompted for instance code, enter TEST
  • Select option 2, "Turn patron and item barcode validation ON"
