World Book Resources
The INFOhio World Book resources include: World Book Early Learning, World Book Kids, World Book Student, World Book Advanced, World Book Timelines, Banco de Contenidos aulaPlaneta, and Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos. These resources are funded in part by a federal IMLS Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant through the State Library of Ohio. Additional funding is provided by Libraries Connect Ohio partners: INFOhio, OhioLINK, and OPLIN. These online encyclopedias include eBooks, videos, activities, read-aloud, and translation features. Lexile reading levels are also included. This group has been created for INFOhio users of the World Book digital resources to reflect and learn more about integrating this resource into the classroom. 9-12.ICT.1.C Analyze and evaluate the ease of use and effectiveness of available features of selected digital learning tools and resources.
Before students begin searching for sources, we will be doing the World Book webquest on Research Skills: Using the World Book Database, we would have the students experiement with using the database and finding materials. We would also use the student videos in the World Book pathway to show student how to use the different items available.
I did not upload the webquest or video since both were already used in this class.

RI.11-12.1. Cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text, including determining where the text leaves matters uncertain.
Will be able to navigate through World Book Student and understand the different components for research.
Will complete RESEARCH SKILLS: Using the World Book Database WebQuest

RL.5.5 Explain how a series of chapters, scenes, or stanzas fits together to provide the overall structure of a particular story, drama, or poem.
To begin our poetry unit student will use World Book Kids to research poetry and get an overview of what we will be working on.
In using the book 'Ride Like The Wind' The following will be used as standard and alignment with 3-4 year olds.
Using the standard below and the resources within our access and World Book,
Ohio Learning Standards: Early Childhood Education - Grade EC

Standards: Ohio: Early Childhood Education - Grade EC - Recites the counting sequence to five accurately and beyond five with some errors.
Materials Needed: ebook: Trek Learns About Numbers
Instructional Plan: Read the ebook. Have animals out for the children to act out the book. The animals can be paper if figurines are not available.
Extension Activities: Reading the next book that goes up to 10 and/or 20. Compare and contrast groups. Adding two groups together.
Differentiation: Have a piece of paper out with circles and numbers and the children can put the figurines on each circle or they can match the animals to the corresponding animal with a number on it.
Assessment: Can the child recite numbers from 1-5, can the child count with 1:1 correspondence. Can the child put the correct match or place the appropriate item in a designated spot. Can the child identify numerals 1-5 out of order.
