About me

I have been a teacher for 24 years, 23 in my current district of Southern Local Schools in Perry County, Ohio. I have taught 6th grade intervention (1 year) , 8th grade ELA, Math and Social Studies (11 years), 1st grade (9 years), 5th grade Social Studies and Science (2020-2022 - the Covid Years), and now am going into my second year of departmentalized 4th grade specializing in Math. I have been an iCoach for our district for the last few years. Unfortunately, the district's PD priorities have left me little time to offer help to much of the staff other than through email. I decided to get involved as a materials reviewer because my colleagues and I spend way too much of our precious time searching for and/or creating quality curriculum pieces when district provided materials fall short, aren't interesting to students, need supplementing/reteaching, or just do not exist. I want to help provide better resources and criteria to my colleagues.
