Our elementary music teacher read to her classes, when she was unable to have them sing due to Covid restrictions. I know that she read Anne of Green Gables to the 5th Grade, and they loved it. Who would have thought?

My fifth graders have enjoyed Small Spaces, The Homework Machine, Triple Threat, City of Ember and Loot.

It helps to know your community demographics. There are also classics you can use through Open Library https://openlibrary.org/collections/k-12
