Alternatives to Tales 2 Go

by Courtney Rice 2 years, 8 months ago

Good morning! For the last several years, my school has been using Tales 2 Go, which provides a number of (primarily) fiction titles recorded by professional narrators. It's so helpful for struggling readers, especially when I can pair physical books along with the Tales 2 Go audio versions. Unfortunately, Tales 2 Go is shutting down after this school year.

Is anyone aware of another company/website that could provide a similar service? I work in a 7th-12th grade school.

Thanks so much!

Learning Ally might be an alternative. Not all narrators are professionals.

Have you tried bookshare.org?  I had a similar situation and recently reserached what was free in the state of Ohio that was not too difficult.  Bookshare is working great for my middle schoolers right now. Some of the free voices are a little robotic, but awful.  I believe it is only $8 for an add on voice, but we did not need to look into that. Hope that helps!
