by Shelly Miller 1 year, 4 months ago

Hi all,

The return of in-person training at OhioNet continues! We’ve just added a new in-depth workshop with SHIFT Consulting from the Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio to the calendar for Wednesday, 3/22 at our new location on Polaris Parkway. Attendees to the Bias and Micro Messages workshop will learn how their own identities shape their experiences and impact their interactions with others, as well as explore strategies for minimizing the effects of bias. Participants will also examine the concept of micro-messages, alongside strategies for addressing micro-inequities and tips for communicating micro-affirmations.

Our in-person session will be followed by a bonus, online module on 4/17. Additional details and links to register for this event, and many more, can be found on our Training Page.

We need your feedback!

A month or so ago, we asked you for input on new copyright topics for 2023. Now, it's time to let us know about your needs in terms of cataloging and discovery services. Over the last 40+ years, OhioNet has led sessions on cataloging, from advice on dealing with books, periodicals, and many common audio-visual formats to discussions on assessing subject headings and creating original records. Based on your topic suggestions, we have some new presentations in the works. To help us prioritize what we'll cover, we've created a simple, two-question survey to gather your input. Click here to complete the form by 12/8.

As always, contact us with any questions you might have!

Cheers,

Shelly
