I chose to share the November Family Literacy Month bulletin with the middle school librarian because I believe it’s important for us to collaborate and create a unified approach to encouraging family literacy in our school community. By working together, we can develop engaging activities and events that promote reading and literacy not just within the classroom, but also at home. We could organize family reading nights, book fairs, or even workshops that emphasize the importance of reading together as a family. This concerted effort can strengthen our community’s involvement in literacy and create a supportive environment for students as they develop their reading skills.

Additionally, I decided to share the National Native American Heritage Month bulletin with our ESL department to ensure that students with Native American heritage have access to resources that reflect their identities and experiences. It’s crucial that all students see themselves represented in the materials we provide. By collaborating with the ESL team, we can highlight books, articles, and multimedia resources that celebrate Native American cultures and contributions. This not only supports our Native American students but also enriches the learning experience for all students by promoting diversity and understanding. Together, we can create a more inclusive environment that acknowledges and values the backgrounds of every student.
