ICoach 2024-2025 Post 3: Three Resources

  1. After looking at the Teach & Learn Flyer, what are three resources you would like to use in your classroom? Why did you choose these three?

Explora - This is a great resource for helping students understand what reliable resources are. It is nice to be able to search for only recent and peer reviewed sources. 

Points of View Reference Source - This is helpful when writing about controversial topics and working toward establishing a healthy balance of opinions on a given topic. 

Science Online - Will be helpful when working with students on science fair topics.

After looking at the Teach & Learning Flyer I found the following 3 resources interesting and I would like to try using them with my students.

  • ISearch - Allows the user to get results from multiple resources/tools at one time.
  • I Wonder - Being able to get richer curriculum ideas to enhance my lesson and provide more engagement for my students.
  • Science Flix - To gain access to vetted science videos on a wide range of topics. This would allow students to gain background on a topic prior to starting the lesson, while I know I am using a quality resource.
