1. The resources available to teachers are so robust and valuable! I want to be an expert to help teachers find what they need.
2. Providing PD is part of my job so I"m really comfortable teaching teachers.
3. Knowing where the best, most applicable resources for such a wide variety of subjects at the high school level can be difficult to manage! Teachers don't have time to sort through dozens of search results. They need only the best-of-the-best!
Welcome to the program, Tracie! I love that you want to bring the best to your teachers.
Hello--I'm Fiona Casida and I am the K-12 Library/Media Coordinator for the Copley-Fairlawn City Schools. The reason I want to become an ICoach is because I know there are a lot more resources than just the iSearch feature, which I always cover in class workshops. I want to provide more resources for my students, and I want to become more familiar with the Educators section to assist my colleagues. I have taught quite a few workshops, but I hope to discover some new tools that will make my workshops more interactive.
Hi Fiona,
Welcome to ICoach. I think you will find great content to share with your colleagues.
Hi! I'm Michelle Lombardi, Library Media Specialist at Jones Middle School in Upper Arlington. I am interested in becoming an iCoach so that I can find and share more resources that meet the needs of my students and staff.
I work with all students and staff in my building, so I am able to facilitate the use of resources for all content areas and grade levels that I serve. I also provide technology integration PD as a district iCoach, so I have opportunities to share digital resources with staff in many different contexts.
I would love to learn where to quickly find the best resources for the wide variety of projects my students and staff create. I need to know how to access the best tools for various content areas and grade levels, and I know there are new INFOhio resources that I have yet to explore. I can't wait to see what's out there!
Hi Michelle,
Welcome to ICoach. I think you will find a great deal of what you are looking for in this training!
Hello, my name is, LaTonya Coats I am a Media Specialist for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. I am interested in becoming an ICoach because I have used INFOhio for years and I appreciate the valuable resources that has helped me teach some amazing lessons to our students. I would like to share this resource with other educators who may appreciate the benefits of using INFOhio in the classroom. One strength that I have is the fact that I am familiar with INFOhio, and I have been to several PD’s hosted by other ICoaches in our district, and that inspired me to become a coach as well to help promote the benefits of using this web-based resource. I will use the experience to help me in an area that I need support in and that is speaking in front of others. I personally want to work on being more visible in my profession and putting myself in situations where I must speak to a group of people is one of the best ways to help me come out of my shell. ICoach will help me develop this skill because one of the requirements, which I am ready to do, is to lead yearly trainings.
Hi LaTonya,
Welcome to ICoach. It is exciting to hear that seeing PD from other ICoaches in your district inspired you!
1. My name is Kara Kennedy and I am a Literacy/Numeracy Teacher in the Canton City School District. I am interested in becoming an ICoach so that I can learn more about INFOhio and be able to help my colleagues learn more as well.
2. One of my strengths is collaborating with others, which I will be able to do as an ICoach when I share out to teachers in my building and work with them to include INFOhio in their teaching.
3. I need to use more technology with my new position of Literacy/Numeracy teacher, so INFOhio wil help me find new resources that I can include in my position.
Hi Kara! Welcome to the ICoach program. I hope you find great content to use with your students and share with colleagues!
1. My name is Michelle Neal and I am one of two new Technology Integration Specialists at Zanesville City Schools. Being an ICoach will help me support our teachers by sharing what I learn about these quality resources.
2. My strength is my willingness to train teachers in multiple ways. I have done large and small group PD, 1:1 coaching, video/remote sessions, and asynchronous training. This will help me as an ICoach since I can reach teachers in various ways to share what I learn about INFOhio resources.
3. An area where I need to build skills is becoming more familiar with the resources available and how best to access them. I am certain that this training will provide the necessary skills that I need to teach others how to utilize this resource.
Hi Michelle,
I am glad you are bringing your training experience with you to this program! I hope you can share some of your ideas with other ICoaches as well!
1. My name is Payton Norris. I am a tech integration specialist at Zanesville City Schools. I believe that INFOhio offers many tools and resources that teachers would find valuable, but may not have the time to find themselves.
2. A strength of mine is creating and curating helpful tools and resources for teachers to use in their classrooms. I share these through PD sessions, PLC sessions, Youtube videos, and blog posts. This will help when I am an iCoach by having a large resource bank to pull from that I can share with teachers.
3. An area I need to build skills in is finding resources for a variety of subjects and grade levels. I taught middle school math for years, so I am familiar with those types of tools, but not as much for other subjects. The iCoach training will provide access to many different tools, for all different content areas.
Hi Payton,
The ICoach program will help you find so many great resources for a variety of grades and content areas! I think your brackground in curation and training will help you a great deal!
Introduction
Hi! I am Brandy and I work at Edgewood in Trenton, Oh. I have been an ICoach for a few years now and I love it.
Share one of your strengths from the Learner Questionnaire survey. How will it help you as an ICoach?
I have been sharing monthly bulletins and resources on our weekly staff newsletter this year. I think teachers find it helpful to have something to be able to reference.
Post an area where you need to build skills. How will the ICoach training help you develop this skill?
I am working to meet with more incoming teachers to show them some of the things they can have ready to use in their classrooms.
Hi Brandy,
You will have so many tools and resources to share with staff after you complete your training! The INFOhio bulletins come out once a month and are designed for our trainers to share with others!
Hello everyone! My name is Tankeeya D. Butts. I am a Library Media Specialist with Toledo Public Schools. One of my strengths is my desire to learn so that I can help our students be prepared for their future in a world full of misinformation. It will help me as an ICoach because I am always looking for ways to differentiate my teaching. I need to build skill at using the resources that are available in INFOhio and this training will provide me with the opportunity and support to accomplish my goals.
Hi Tankeeya,
Welcome back! I hope you will find resources and tools to share with your colleagues as well as students!
Hi I am Kim Reilly, I am the Librarian at National Road Elementary which is part of Zanesville City Schools. This will be my second year as a I coach. Being an I coach last year I got to teach and show the staff all the different Materials that they can use in the classroom. Almost all of them had no idea that they could use this and where it was located As an I coach I need to slow down and remeber I am teaching them a new idea.
Hi Kim! Thanks for participating in the ICoach discussions. Anything you can share with those in training will be so beneficial!
Amy Miller-Colburn, Curriculum Director, Logan Elm Local Schools
I feel like I have only scratched the surface of this resource and want to support our teachers in using it to its fullest potential. I love to use it to search for peer reviewed articles and have used this before as a basis for a workshop. I do not have much experience using it as a classroom teacher might and I am sure this training will cover that.
Hi Amy! We hope you find what you need in this training to use the resources and tools in the classroom and to help your peers do the same!
Hi, I am Lisa Casto. I am a Technology Resource Teacher at the Arts Academy in Canton City Schools. I want to be able to help teachers find more valuable resources that they may not be aware of. Helping teachers integrate technology into their curriculum and providing PD for teachers are requirements of my role as a TRT. I feel that I am good at making teachers feel more comfortable with technology and I work patiently with them. I need to keep on top of new technology resources and I feel that being an iCoach will help me with that.
Hi Lisa,
It sounds like you have many things in place already to help ease your staff into INFOhio! I hope this training gives you what you need to provide useful PD for all!
Angie Williams, Library Media Specialist, Adena Local Schools
As the librarian for the district, I want to become adept at utilizing INFOhio resources so that I can share them with my district teachers. I am very comfortable working with technology and not afraid to play around with something until I master it. I was an elementary teacher before coming into the library. I am more comfortable with the elementary resources as a whole and look forward to learning more about the middle and high school resources that I can share with the teachers. There are many resources on INFOhio that I have never used and wouldn't know where to begin. This is my chance to learn.
Angie,
We are excited to have you in the program. You will have the oppourtunity to dive into specific resources and tools. Looking forward to watching you progress!
Hello! My name is Christine Wenning, and I am the district library supervisor for Perry Local Schools in Massillon, OH and the Library Media Specialist at Perry High School. After a whirlwind of a Fall Semster, I am ready to finally dive into ICoach Training! I want to become an ICoach to become even more familiar with all of the INFOhio resources for students and teachers to use as curriculum support and enrichment. I am already very familiar with our INFOhio resoruces and use them with our English and Social Studies departements regularly. I would like to expand that expertise, so I have an arsenal of resources ready to go when a teacher asks for suggestions rather than having to take a minute to refamiliarize myself with everything that is available. I would also like to be more preared to team up with our Science and Math departments. I have already reached out to our district tech integration specialist and we are planning a presentation for Elementary library clerks and building ITs. It's pretty exciting to be able to streamline library resources with the resources that our tech department will start coaching teachers to integrate into their classrooms!
HI Christine,
I love your enthusiasm for INFOhio! I think you will find great content for Math and Science!
Happy new year!
My name is Rob Kaminski. I am the librarian media specialist at Woodbury Elementary (grades 5-6) in Shaker Heights City Schools. I am interested in becoming an ICoach because I am part of our I-Team, which provides professional development and technology trainings to staff members in our District.
One of my strengths is to come up with creative ways to use technology and other resources in learning.
When I first came out of my MLIS (~8 years ago), I was well versed in INFOhio's resources. I haven't kept up with the resources as they've evolved over that time and because I don't have any set classes (I co-teach on a flexible schedule), I don't use a lot of the resources regularly. I'm hoping my ICoach training will refresh me on what's available so that I can brainstorm how they can be used in different subjects in my building.
Welcome Rob! I hope you will check out some of our newer resources to help support your teachers/students in grades 5&6>
My name is Amanda Whitmore and I am a technology integration specialist with Youngstown City Schools. I am interested in becoming an ICoach to support elementary teachers with INFOhio and help them utilize all the wonderful tools.
My familiarity with technology resources within INFOhio would be my biggest strength and I believe it will help me the most with becoming an ICoach.
I believe my biggest weakness would be that I need more in-depth learning of all the resources in INFOhio. I think following through with becoming an ICoach will support me with this.
Diving into the INFOhio Learning Pathway classes will help you get in-depth with the resources. Hope you enjoy the training!
Hello, my name is Karen Thomas. I am Holgate Local School's K-12 Librarian, and I teach Technology to grades K-5.
I have used World Book Kids and Students during my Tech time to assist primary grade level teachers research animals for the ARC writing assignment. We printed information about animals and used the Read Aloud to assist students with reading the information and highlighting it for their basic research papers.
In general, INFOhio is an incredible resource, but I am overwhelmed with all that it offers. That is why I am taking the ICoach training so I feel stronger in sharing the wealth that is INFOhio with the other teachers in the district.
Hi Karen,
I hope the training helps you break down the resources to beat that feeling of being overwhelmed! We also recommend breaking it down when you share it as well! Hope you enjoy the training!
My name is Christine Badenhop and I am the School Library Media Specialist at Four County Career Center. I am interested in becoming an ICoach to help my colleagues find quality relevant information for our curriculum and projects at the career center. I consider communication my strength and try to provide my colleagues and students with a variety of different communication pathways. I would like to dig deeper into what Infohio offers and be able to provide more thorough information.
Welcome to the ICoach program! We have so mamy great resources for students and educators at career centers!
Hi. I am Mary Sauder and work at Hilltop K12 Schools in West Unity, OH. I am the only Librarian for the school however I am classified as a Library Aide even though I am the only person working as the librarian for the school.
I need to learn more about INFOhio in general and have the ability to share with the teachers in my school how they can better serve their students with the resources that INFOhio has to offer. I have been sorely lacking in this area since I have been the librarian at the school for the last 5 years.
Welcome Mary,
I hope you enjoy the training and find the best content to support your teachers!
1. Michele Rittichier, Librarian, Wauseon Exempted Village Schools, I am interested in finding more resorces to help the teachers and students.
2. Strong communications skills will help me with communicating the information I learn with others
3. As the High School Librarian I am the first line when students have questions with both their technological questions and reaserching questions. I am always looking for new ways to show the students how they can find the research they need. Giving them the best tools facilitates critical thinking and problem solving skills.
Your students are sure to appreciate your new knowledge of vetted resources. Be sure to reflect on how you can share INFOhio with your peers to maximize student use.
I am Taryn Thomas, and I work at Four County Career Center. I am interested in becoming an ICoach because I teach seniors and we complete a research paper using InfOhio. I am also in graduate school studying to be a Library/Media Specialist at my school.
Teaching others about the PD and new information is one of my strengths. This will help me give more information out to not only my students but to my fellow coworkers as well.
I need to build skills in navigating InfOhio and utilizing it more. The ICoach training will definitely help me develop this skill as I will become more informed about the different areas and different resources provided through InfOhio.
What a great time to take the ICoach training. I hope you find the training enjoyable. Good luck with your MLIS!
Hi, I am Michelle Detter. I am a High School/Middle School Library Aide at Defiance City Schools. I am new to the HS/MS so everything is new to me. By taking ICoach I am hoping to better assist the Media Specialist and students. This training will help me to do that.
Hi Michelle,
Welcome to the ICoach program! I think you will find some great support for your new role in the training!
Jeannie Mansfield here, Defiance City Schools Library Media Specialist--I work primarily with MS (grades 6-8) and HS (grades 9-12). We are fortunate to have a flexible library schedule, which allows teachers across disciplines to utilize the library space for a variety of learning activities. This allows me to share INFOhio's resources with both students and staff. My strength is in sharing resources to assist students/staff with research projects. I am hoping to become more familiar with resources that staff may want to incorporate into their classes. Spending time utilizing individual databases will give me experience with resources that I have not used prior to this training.
Hello Jeannie,
If you are looking for ways to help teachers use the digital resources in their classrooms, this is definitely the program for you! Glad to have you in the training!
Hello! My name is Kristen Vollmar, I am the K-4 Instructional Technology Coach for Pickerington Local Schools. I'm interested in becoming an ICoach because there is a great wealth of resources that our teachers can use with INFOhio that many are not aware of. I know that I have only scratched the surface of all the resources available and I want to continue to learn in order to better help the teachers and students I work with.
Hi Kristen,
Welcome to the training! I know you will learn a lot that you can share with your teachers!
Aaron Hartzler - Technology Integration Specialist (7-12 focus, k-12 support) - Canton City School District.
Interested in becoming an ICoach to help my teachers get the most out of this wonderful free resouce most of them know very little about. I have a decade of professional development experience and working with teachers to infuse technology into their teaching. This should serve me well with this endeavor. Honestly, the biggest issue I have is the time it will take to explore and get to know all of the available tools within INFOhio. I'm looking forward to it!
We hope that you find this training to be flexible and meet your time demands!
Thanks, Aaron!
Judy Sgambati, Director of Academics, Ohio Council of Community Schools
1. I know there are so many resources on INFOhio that many educators don't have time to wade through. As a commuity school authorizor, I have the capacity to reach hundreds of teachers who in turn can reach 30,000+ Ohio students with INFOhio resources!
2. I am very comfortable presenting to and training school leaders and staff. This will help me to share what i learn easily.
3. I need a better understanding of what's available. This will help me figure that out and determine what to focus on to make it as relevant and effective as possible for busy teachers.
Hi Judy,
Welcome to the training! Your background in presenting and training will be helpful! Looking forward to hearing more from you.
Hello! My name is Angela Aquila and I am the Technology Specialist at Gesu Catholic School.
My interest in becoming an ICoach is to merge together my profession in Tech with my background in Library. My hope is to become a strong resource for staff and students with the information available from the ICoach program.
One of my strengths is striving to learn something new everday as well as share the knowledge I have with those around me.
An area I would need to build skills is to better familiarize myself with the material available from INFOhio. By participating in ICoach training, I know that I will be able to help staff and students navigate throughout the various resources available to them.
Hi Angela,
These are some great incentives for the training! Tech and library and INFOhio go hand in hand!
1. Alice Johnston, Elementary Technology Teacher/Coach for Massillon City Schools
I am interested in becoming an ICoach because I already use and promote the use of InfOhio resources and I would like to be even more knowledgeable on all it has to offer to the teachers and students in my district.
2. One of my strengths is a general knowledge and awareness of InfOhio resources and potential to help students and teachers. I want to continue to learn so that I can help others realize that there are better options than "just Googling it" when it comes to searching for answers and information.
3. I think one area I need to build upon is knowing which InfOhio resource to use for various reasons/topics/projects.
I am Misty, I am the Media Center Specialist at Bear Elementary at Miamissburg City Schools. The reason I want to become an ICoach is because I know there are a lot of resources that we are not utilizing in our district that would be helpful to our teachers and beneficial to our students.
Hello. My name is Delilah Williams and I'm a teacher with the Youngstown City School District. I'm seeking to become an ICoach because I am building my toolbox of technology resources. INFOhio has been around for a very long time and their connections between teaching and learning is priceless, and I want to be able to share this valuable resource. A strength that I possess is that I love learning about technology and helping others become familiar with using it, especially in the classroom. An area that I would need to build upon would be persuading or convincing my teaching peers that using technology isn't a scary or bad thing. By gaining the information from the ICoach program, I believe I will be able to present many of its facets to my colleagues, in hopes that they will in turn find it as useful as I will, in developing their lessons.
