This group has been created for INFOhio users and book study groups who are reading the book, Building Blocks for Tiny Techies by Jamila "Mia" Leonard. This group is to be used in combination with the INFOhio class, Building Blocks for Tiny Techies by Jamila "Mia" Leonard to help teachers reflect on their own practices and learn from others.
In this book, the author shares her expertise with best practices for tech implementation, adaptation, and exploration in the elementary classroom, where today's students are digital natives, adept at using touchscreens and apps from an early age. She offers strategic, seamless, and intentional ways to fold tech into existing curricula. This guide helps teachers reach for apps and learning tools that power up the great learning that's already happening in the classroom.

This was a timely chapter! We just received a great idea from a teacher via a survey to have students promote books in the library. As our space is somewhat limited the idea morphed into student book promotions on the annoucements. It would also be great to find a way to automatically subtitle these videos as they show throughout our school on the TVs without volume. That would give us another opportunity to promote literacy while empowering our students with technology and promoting their choice of reading materials.
