Take a Tour of The Shared Bookshelf
by Mary Rowland 2 years, 9 months agoWelcome, thanks for joining The Shared Bookshelf! As many of you are new to our Open Space group, let me give you a tour of this space we all share and how you can contribute content and connect with educators across Ohio!
What is The Shared Bookshelf?
Glad you asked! This group was created to provide Ohio ELA educators and those supporting Ohio's ELA educators a place to connect, collaborate, and share lesson plans and great ideas across the state of Ohio. We're book nerds at heart, so we envision our shared virtual space like a bookshelf of growing lesson plans and ideas for ELA classrooms grades K-12. What to learn more about this group? Check out this discussion post. We all have ownership of this space to share and contribute!
What will I find in The Shared Bookshelf?
This Open Space group features a shared resources area on the Group Resources tab and a discussion space located in the Discussion tab. Folders and subfolders can help organize the resources added to the group. The search bar appearing in any folder within Group Resources can also help you find the resources you are looking for. Click on any resource to view additional details about it and open it.
As a member of this group, you can add lesson plans from Open Space directly to the folders within this group. Watch ELA Virtual Meetup #3 to learn how to add Open Space resources to this group in Open Space. Shout out to Shawna Benson for adding Literacy Access for All Website to our Group Resources!

Where can I learn more about Open Space?
Not only is Open Space a virtual space where you can connect and collaborate with ELA educators across Ohio, but you can also find lesson plans to supplement the ELA classroom in Open Space and share them easily with group members. To learn more about how to search, save, and share lesson plans for the ELA classroom, check out the Restorative Writing Virtual Meetup series. Visit the Meetups folder and follow the link to Resources for English Language Arts to access the recordings for all three meetups.
