As a school library media specialist, I always read a story with my primary elementary students at the beginning of our lessons. I teach and review the key concepts of story elements. I found the following article on Literary Elements that breaks down the key elements with a discription and illustration. Students could then use this story elements worksheet at after reading a story to fill in those elements.

I am collaborating with a Social Studies teacher on an upcoming unit on countries of the world. Students will research countries and make an infographic. I plan on having students use the Countries of the World topic to research a country, for example using an article like the one here about Morocco. Students can use the printable handout Compare and Contrast Two Countries to take notes while they research.

I looked at Animal Adaptations. I think it is a topic a lot of students will love. I found a handout, but honestly don't love it. It seems very lower-level learning and similar to something I could find in a workbook from the 80's or 90's.
