AAA Math provides a descriptive summary of the division of integers and interactive questions with positive and negative integers.
Introducing a card game that your students can play in small groups to develop their addition skills. This video focuses on addition of positive and negative numbers and briefly touches on subtraction of integers.
SWBAT create a number using groups of tens and extra ones.
Students make connections between the coordinate grid and Geometry by finding the distance of line segments using the coordinate plane. This lesson includes a detailed lesson plan, slides containing notes and problems, and a think-pair-share activity with a video explanation.
SWBAT identify and build numbers based on base ten language.
SWBAT match a numeral with its written digit form for numbers below 20 and learn the meaning of digit and numeral.
Kids love to count and build puzzles. This activity encourages them to do both! The kids count objects on puzzle pieces and match the groups of objects to the correct number.
Students will be able to independently practice graphing, teen numbers, and addition.
SWBAT identify patterns on a hundreds chart. SWBAT use patterns and structure of the hundreds chart to identify missing numbers.
SWBAT read and write numbers to 20..
SWBAT read and write numbers to 30.
SWBAT apply their understanding of patterns on the hundreds chart and the counting sequence to create a number chart.
Numbers don't stop at 20! We spend the last week or so of school looking at the numbers beyond 20. Today we do it by looking at the number line.
SWBAT count to ten and identify numbers by counting object patterns.
What do students already know about integers, rational numbers, and the coordinate plane? What gaps do students have in their understanding? Students take the Unit 3 pretest in order to inform instruction.
What do students understand? What gaps do they have in their understanding?
SWBAT match dot patterns and ten frame patterns to their appropriate number.
SWBAT use a ten frame to build and identify the numbers 10 through 15.
Students in kindergarten are required to match quantities with corresponding numerals from 0 to 20. It is best to teach numbers to quantities in "chunks." This lesson focuses on reinforcing counting quantities 0 to 9.
This lesson is the sequel to Towers! Towers! Towers! 1-5. Students continue to develop their sense of quantity as they build successive taller towers.
